Women's Basketball Wins Second Straight

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Eleven different Eagles scored as the Bridgewater College women's basketball team toppled Gallaudet 80-28 on Tuesday night in Nininger Hall.

The Basics

  • Final Score: Bridgewater 80, Gallaudet 28

How It Happened 

  • The Eagles controlled the contest from start to finish, jumping out to a 21-9 first quarter advantage. Erika Nettles and Jaden Alsberry each dropped seven points in the first frame
  • Bridgewater held Gallaudet to just four points in the second quarter to enter the half up 34-13
  • The Eagles momentum and energy never faded in third as they separated themselves even further from the Bison to go up 56-24
  • After causing 11 Bison turnovers, the Eagles produced their best offensive quarter of the game in the fourth scoring 24 points

  • Bridgewater scored 24 points off of 38 caused turnovers 
  • All dressed Eagles played in the contest with the bench contributing 32 points
  • Nettles led Bridgewater with a game-high 15 points and three rebounds
  • Alsberry had a game-high eight rebounds to go with 13 points
  • Mary Ruth Shifflett contributed 12 points and three assists while Rosemary Pierson had eight points and four assists
  • Kelsie Huffman had seven steals while Julia Williams posted five
