VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.Jaden Alsberry led a trio of Eagles in double figures to give the Eagles the 77-54 win over the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins on the road, Bridgewater's first win of the season in their first ODAC contest.

How It Happened

  • After a back-and-fourth first quarter, the Eagle separated themselves from the Marlins going up 17-11 behind strong defensive rebounding from Alsberry and Jessie Wiles and two Erika Nettles baskets
  • Bridgewater kept their foot on the gas, going on a 17-7 run to enter the half up 41-27
  • The Eagles outscored the Marlins 21-5 in the third frame and maintained control for the 77-54 win in their first ODAC test

Match Notes

  • Alsberry posted 16 points and 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season
  • Nettles and Julia Williams joined Alsberry in double figures with 15 and 13 points, respectively, with Nettles adding seven rebounds
  • Kelsie Huffman, Nettles and Williams all had two steals
  • Williams also had a team-high three assists followed by Mary Ruth Shifflett with two
