Men's Basketball Bested By Mary Washington

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's basketball team picked up their first loss of the season 80-65 to Mary Washington to conclude the Hyatt Place Tipoff Classic.

How It Happened

  • After falling behind 23-8 in the first half, Bridgewater had to play catch-up with the home Eagles 
  • Behind slow and steady offense, powered behind 12 first half points from Rashod Smith and ten from Andy Pack, the Eagles came all the way back to make it 42-37 entering the half
  • Zach Hatter paced BC in the second frame with 11 points, two assists and two rebounds, but the Eagles could not catch up to Mary Washington

  • Smith led Bridgewater with 16 points followed by Pack with 15
  • Hatter's 11 second half points are a season high for the sophomore
  • Pack also contributed six rebounds followed by Alec Topper with five
  • Rookie Jalen Curtis dished out four assists
