Bridgewater in Fourth at NCAA Outdoor Championships

GENEVA, Ohio –
The Bridgewater College women's track & field team grabbed two All-American performances and moved into fourth place at the opening day of the NCAA outdoor championships.

Senior Katelyn Senger earned her first career All-American honor, placing fourth in the discus (45.04m/147'9").

Senger's first throw was a strong 44.38m, as she led her flight early and sat in fourth place at the beginning of the finals.

Junior Amber Celen was also the early leader in the first flight of her long jump event. She was third overall entering the finals and maintained that position with her best mark of 5.81m/19'0.75".

It was Celen's seventh career All-American honor and first in the outdoor long jump.

On the track, Celen reached the 200 meter finals with a prelim time of 24.44- a new Bridgewater school record.

Celen will compete in the 100 meter prelims tomorrow.

Bridgewater has 11 points in the team standings, one point behind third-place Westminster (12).
