Eagles Place Third, Set Three Records at ODAC Relays

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's swimming team placed third, as the Eagles opened the season at the ODAC relays.

BC's team score of 206 was closer to second-place Randolph-Macon (244 points) than the fourth and fifth place teams (Roanoke- 156 and Emory & Henry-146).

The Eagles set three school records, placing a team-best fourth in each event.

That included Kelley Hilliker, Emily Carr and Morgan Beauregard in the 3x50 back (1:29.16), Olivia Heeb-Wade, Jenna Walmer and Emma Daw in the 3x50 breast (1:41.21), and Ke. Hilliker, Carr and Daw in the 3x100 IM (3:21.43).

Bridgewater's next best finish was fifth in the 400 free relay, where Ke. Hilliker, Genevieve Young, Heeb-Wade and Daw clocked a time of 3:57.92.

The Eagles were sixth in both the 200 free (Back, Daw, Ke. Hilliker, Heeb-Wade, 1:48.88) and 200 medley (Carr, Walmer, Daw, Ke. Hilliker, 2:00.42) events.

Back, Young and Rachael King were seventh in the 3x50 fly, in 1:28.23, the same placing as the 500 yard relay squad of Back, King, Kaitlyn Hilliker and Heeb-Wade (5:22.10).

In the day's more unusual events, BC placed sixth in both the 8x25 free relay (Taylor Berard, Young, Back, Carr, 1:49.79) and the 100 dolphin kick relay (Laurel Glover, Hess, Back, Young, 1:04.46).

Bridgewater will begin its dual meet campaign next Saturday in Greensboro, N.C. vs. Roanoke, Greensboro and Guilford.
